Are you having problems with your fan motor and have decided to replace it? We have put together a step-by-step guide so that you, as a customer, can feel secure in carrying out your exchange.
A few things to consider before starting the installation of the Fan motor:
*Turn off the electricity completely, preferably from the plug cabinet.
*Check that the replacement motor and connectors are identical to the old one, before removing the old motor.
*Do not try to move the pump, do the replacement in place. The unit's gas lines can be easily damaged and begin to leak.
Step 1:
After turning off the power, start by removing the air handler cover by pulling it straight out, then use a screwdriver to loosen the screws located at the bottom of the front. When this is done, lift the front outwards at the bottom edge and up, then pull the door towards you.
Step 2:
Once you have located the fan motor, it is a good idea to study it, take advantage of a picture of how it sits to be able to refer back to when installing the new part.
Step 3:
After that, you disconnect the connection cables to the fan and slide the fan cover straight up.
Step 4:
Pick out the old fan and take care to clean where the old one sat. Clean with a dry cloth, avoid using water as there is a risk of wetting the connection cables.
Step 5:
Now install the new fan in the same way as the old one. Use the picture you took in step 2 to make sure it connects correctly.
Step 6:
When the fan is in place and plugged in, fasten the front cover again, using the screws you loosened at the bottom. Also put the air handling cover back.
Step 7:
Turn the power back on and you're done!
